Spills can be cleaned up with a damp cloth of distilled water or with a 1:1 vinegar and distilled water solution. Buff dry after wiping. Always remember to wipe with the grain of the wood to prevent very noticeable streaks. A coat of oil should be applied at least once a year. Danish Oil can be purchased through The Old Wood Co.
Wax Finish Maintenance:
Periodically buff with a lint free cloth to renew the shine. The more you buff, the better it looks. When needed, apply a very thin coat of Wax, let dry about 10 minutes, and then buff with a soft lint free cloth. Always remember to wipe with the grain of the wood to prevent very noticeable streaks. Finish with a light rubbing of synthetic or 0000 steel work again making sure to wipe in the direction of the grain.
To remove drink rings, use a small amount wax applied to a piece 0000 steel wool. Rub lightly with the grain. Allow the wax to dry for 5-10 minutes. Remove the wax in the direction of the grain with a clean lint free cloth. Wax can be purchased through The Old Wood Co.
